RESULTS AT BOTTOM OF PAGE

In spring-time conditions, the varsity boys, varsity girls and the frosh-soph boys swept Alhambra and Las Lomas at the first Diablo Foothill Athletic League meet of 2016.

The varsity girls held off the Knights by a margin of 70 to 66 thanks, in part, to a sweep of the first 3 places in the 1600. Lauren Williams (17) scored in both the 100 and 200 and Juliet Arnswald (17) was victorious in the high jump and the 300 hurdles.

Though undermanned, the frosh-soph boys pulled out a win over Las Lomas. Andrew Kimball (18) picked up wins in both the shot put and discus while Krish Visht (18) improved his lifetime best in the pole vault, clearing 11 feet to take 1st place. Teddy Buckley (19) and Cameron Iniguez-Reyes (19) made their season debuts in the 3200, running 10:34.03 and 10:45.31 respectively. Ethan Sauerberg (18) ran a personal best of 10:46.38 to complete the sweep in the event.

The Varsity boys enjoyed a narrow 71-64 victory over Las Lomas, with Jonathan Hughes (16) earning victories in the 100m and 200m while the tandem of Kai Weyland (17) and Rupert Dusauzay (17) delivered clutch performances in the long jump. Jason Lin (17) netted personal bests in both hurdle races and a strong showing in high jump to seal the win for the cougars.
