2010 HUMBOLDT STATE SUMMER RUNNING CAMP
July 25–JULY 30

Humboldt State Running Camp is an inspiring week of running amidst majestic redwoods, beside ocean vistas, and along winding rivers, as well as an opportunity to learn from prominant coaches and interact with athletes, intended to elevate each participant's level of performance and enjoyment in our sport.

Running Camp provides an opportunity for the team to immerse itself in a total running environment for 6 days! It is a time for building group identity, strengthening bonds between teammates and coaches, and establishing goals for the up-coming season. In addition, camp offers athletes a chance to look intensively at their sport.

This experience is open to athletes who are willing to prepare adequately, who wish to dedicate themselves to their personal improvement, and who are committed to the goals of our team. Athletes wishing to participate should complete the CAMP REGISTRATION FORM and MEDICAL RELEASE FORM and follow the instructions below for mailing it along with the deposit payment. Accepted athletes will receive confirmation.

PAYMENT: The total cost for 2010 will be less than the $545 published amount... Campolindo athletes will receive a reduced rate dependant on the total number in our group. Therefore, the exact amount per individual will not be figured until June 1. However, a deposit payment of $200 dollars is required with registration. MAKE PAYMENT CHECKS OUT TO: Jo Ann Hunt.

Deliver payment and CAMP REGISTRATION FORM and MEDICAL RELEASE FORM to CHUCK. The ballance of the camp fee is due upon arrival. You may deliver these to CHUCK at CHS in Room E-11. Or, mail them to:

CHUCK WOOLRIDGE

PREPARATION: It is imperative that YOU are physically prepared! Running camp can be a fantastic experience: meeting new people, learning important strategies, and above all else, running through the most spectacular terrain imaginable. However, it can also be a disappointment for anyone that attends unprepared. Sore muscles, blistered feet, burning lungs, and the loneliness of straggling behind can all detract from your enjoyment of camp.

A DAY AT CAMP: The daily schedule consists of an easy morning run at 6am, breakfast, seminar, track or steeple clinic, lunch, free time (sleep), afternoon long run, dinner, and evening seminar and/or pool workout. Lights out at 10pm… and believe me, you will wish it were earlier.

WHAT TO BRING: BRING TRACK SPIKES! The camp provides bedding, including pillows and blankets. Be sure to bring a towel, soap, toothbrush, etc. for hygiene purposes. As for clothing, you absolutely need at least 2 pairs of running shoes, lots of socks, running shorts, shirts, and a swimsuit. The weather is moderate, with an average temperature of 65f. Bring a sweatshirt or light jacket for the cool mornings and evenings. You will be provided with 3 meals a day! Bring some $ spending cash $ for snacks, extra curricular stuff, and lunch on the way there and back.

PLEASE: DON'T BRING EVERY-THING YOU OWN!!! THERE WILL BE LIMITED ROOM IN THE CARS! 1 medium sized bag per person is the maximum! ELECTRONIC DEVICES, INCLUDING GAMEBOYS AND IPODS ARE NOT PERMITTED AT THE CAMP!

DEPARTURE TIME: 6am, Sunday July 25th, from the CAMPOLINDO HS parking lot.

RETURN TIME: Approximately 7pm, Friday July 30th.
