Varsity Teams Lead Impressive Rout; Cougars Take 5 of 6 from Mats, Knights

Lamorinda bragging rights belong to the Puma Pride after Wednesday's domination over the Matadors of Miramonte. Anna Katibah (07) took advantage of her break from the longer distance to destroy the field in the junior varsity division, helping the Cougars remain in the league title hunt with a pair of victories!

Julien LaCour (08) inspired his junior varsity boys to the same feat, dropping under thirteen minutes on the tough Lafayette Community Park course.

In all, CHS Harriers swept the competition in five of six divisions in their best performance of the 2006 season!

The highly anticipated varsity girls showdown turned into a route as Riki Giacchetti (07) and Lisa Rosenthal (09) closed down the pack margin to nearly a minute, finishing with the Mats #3 runner!

The fantastic day was capped with a surprising victory for Chris Harland-Dunaway (07) in the varsity boys race. Stalking the leaders through most of the course, the formidable speedster shifted in to high gear to outdistance teammate Joey Kochlacs (07) by ten seconds over the final quarter mile, leaving little doubt about which DFAL squad packs the biggest one-two punch.
