Distance Aces Run Career Bests in Perfect Conditions at Annual Dublin Distance Fest

Campolindo's top endurance specialists shined under the lights at the Dublin Distance Fiesta on Saturday, March 18. Alex Lodewick (23) topped the list of boys' best marks while Ellie Buckley (23) and Shea Volkmer (24) delivered the best duo finish of any school in the competition.

Lodewick's 3200m time of 9:13.45 moves him up to 6th on the all-time list while Buckley and Volkmer 4th and 5th in school history for the 8-lap race.

The tandem returned to the track 90 minutes later to close out the meet with a victory in the distance medley relay.

The most progress over last year's results were turned in by Kate Kabenina (24), who shaved 51 seconds from her previous 3200m best to finish in 11:24.60, and Helen Shephard (25), who dropped under the 3-minute mark in the 800m for the 1st time in her career.

Also crushing their PR's in the 2-lap event were Toby Barton (23) and Josiah Beardsley (25). The best boys' improvement in the 3200m came from Alex Thomasson (24), who clocked 9:33.67 to break into the all-time record list for the event.
