2024 HUMBOLDT STATE SUMMER RUNNING CAMP

2024 CAMP DATES: JULY 14–19

Humboldt State Running Camp is an inspiring week of running amidst majestic redwoods, beside ocean vistas, and along winding rivers, as well as an opportunity to learn from prominant coaches and interact with athletes, intended to elevate each participant's level of performance and enjoyment in our sport.

Running Camp provides an opportunity for the team to immerse itself in a total running environment for 6 days! It is a time for building team identity, strengthening bonds between teammates and coaches, and establishing goals for the up-coming season.

This experience is open to athletes who are willing to prepare adequately, who wish to dedicate themselves to their personal improvement, and who are committed to the goals of our team. Athletes who wish to participate in this camp must visit the HSUDistancecamp.com website and complete the registration process ASAP.

PREPARATION: Running camp can be a fantastic experience: meeting new people, learning important strategies, and above all else, running through the most spectacular terrain imaginable. However, it can also be a disappointment for anyone that attends unprepared. Sore muscles, blistered feet, burning lungs, and the loneliness of straggling behind can all detract from enjoyment of camp.

A DAY AT CAMP: The daily schedule consists of an easy morning run at 6am, breakfast, seminar, track or steeple clinic, lunch, team meeting, afternoon long run, dinner, and evening seminar.

WHAT TO BRING: BRING TRACK SPIKES! The camp provides bedding, including pillows and blankets. Be sure to bring a towel, soap, toothbrush, etc. Bring at least 2 pairs of running shoes (3 is recommendated), lots of socks, running shorts, shirts, and a swimsuit. The weather is moderate, with an average temperature of 65f. Bring a sweatshirt or light jacket for the cool mornings and evenings. You will be provided with 3 meals a day! Bring spending cash for snacks, extra curriculars, and lunch on the way there and back. ELECTRONIC DEVICES ARE NOT PERMITTED AT THE CAMP!

TRANSPORTATION: HSU Distance Running Camp does not provide transportation to and from the HSU campus. Athletes must get themselves to camp.
