Doane Tops Leader Board, Hatch Wins Rookie Division at Annual Event Testing
With the top mark in both the 300m sprint and the long jump, as well as a runner up mark in the shot put, Maddy Doane (19) ran away with the overall victory at Friday's event testing. Her closest competitor turned out to be newcomer Emily Hatch (22), who showed impressive range in the running events, finishing 2nd in the 300m sprint and 7th in the 1200m run.
Alicia Hober (20) and Natalie Arnswald (19) filled out the veteran girls' podium positions while Kyrstin Wilson (22) and Cathy Kenderski (22) completed a freshman sweep of the rookie girls' division.
The boys' competition featured a down-to-the-wire battle between 2 distance runners. Cayden Hein (20) managed the victory with a 2-point advantage over Bradford Martin (21). Martin showed surprising versatility, launching the shot over 30 feet to complement his solid performances in the running events.
Dylan Cronin (20) earned the final veteran podium position.
Marco Chao (22) finished 1 point ahead of Seth Bonnin (22) in the rookie boys' field. Mason Fara (22) was 3rd.
